In today’s competitive world people really find it tough, to meet out the challenges and it often
leads to depression and anxiety. People want to prosper even at the cost of others, without

altering the perception, the attitude of an individual can be altered. The person must be
influenced and compelled to take to optimistic thinking and have optimistic outlook towards
life. Positive outlook has the power to change the cynic behavior of an individual.
The other most common and tried and tested formula for self-control is the psychological
motivation. This is the method commonly used by militants, governments, employee leaders
or when an individual wants to lure you against the other party. In this technique, the person
is convinced about the wickedness of an individual or an organization so that the concerned
individual may work against it or the result can be vice-versa the individual is made to believe
that the organization is the best.
Behavior modification is the traditional method used by psychiatrists and the basic principle it
works on is that the behavior of an individual can be easily molded. Once the individual mind
is taken on the path of optimistic thinking then the person is bound to prosper and touch the
desired heights. The person must be encouraged to take to the good behavior, when the
person mind is healthy, healthy body is the fruit of this hard work. Having the fixed target and
goals even aids an individual to prosper as then the individual channelize all the energy and
oomph for achieving it.
Once the individual decides to follow the path of self-control and try to exercise self-restraint
then the individual is bound to have a developed self. Development of an individual is possible
when a person comes face to face with the vices and virtues of the self and tries and
overcome the weaknesses and strengthen the virtues and try and in-cash its benefits. Self-
development is a wider term and self-control is just one way to initiate and speed the process
of development of the hidden and latent self of an individual. Self-control makes an individual
neglect the negativity of life and automatically takes to the path of success.
